The Nebraska Nursery and Landscape Association held the 2020 Fall Field Day virtually this year in mid-October.

The week of October 5th, NNLA shared three videos providing virtual tours of behind the scenes operations of Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard. The first video provided a tour of the overall landscape operation, the second video explored the apple orchard, and the third video focused on the pumpkin operation. Vala’s Agriculture Manager, Vaughn Hammond provided the in-depth tours of the 100+ year old farm and its operations.

Then on October 14, NNLA hosted a networking Zoom event for attendees to network with each other and ask Vaugh questions after watching the videos. NNLA Board member, Ashly Neneman facilitated the networking and Brian Munk, NNLA Board President welcomed everyone and thanked the sponsors for their support.

There were over forty-five attendees registered and over twenty-five that participated in the networking event. Thank you to everyone who attended the event.

A special thank you to:

• Vaughn Hammond for sharing his time and expertise

• Ashly Neneman and Sarah Krecklow for filming and editing the videos

• Our host venue - Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard

• Silver Sponsors – Mulhalls, Oak Prairie Nursery and Plains Tree Farm, Inc. and Sun Valley Landscaping
