The Nebraska Department of Roads Transportation Enhancement Program provides funding to local, state, and regional governmental entities to build and restore transportation infrastructure.
Examples of transportation infrastructure projects that are eligible under this program include non-motorized facilities for pedestrians and bicycles, development of scenic byways, restoration of historic transportation facilities. Landscaping can be included in all of these projects.

There are two categories of grants the Foundation awards: general purpose grants and small grants. The Peter Kiewit Foundation funds programs, facilities, and capital projects.
In the general purpose grants program, there are no limitations on the size or duration of the grants that may be requested.
The small grants program allows the Trustees to assist a large number of worthy organizations with a broad array of small projects which are limited in scope but significant for the organization.
Grant application guidelines and application forms are required to submit a funding request and these materials are available through the Peter Kiewit Foundation office only. Trees for Nebraska Town (TNT) Primary intent for large maturing trees and associated plantings on public or private property but all projects must provide clear public benefit. 50/50 matching grant. Waterwise Landscapes Initiative The Nebraska Environmental Trust has allocated approximately $725,000 to fund the Waterwise Landscapes Initiative.a statewide, multi-partner, three-year effort to develop model sustainable landscapes and enable partnering communities to develop the plans, tools and incentives to achieve more sustainable use of natural resources.
The Initiative will be undertaken in partnering communities chosen through a competitive process that establishes need, desire, ability and strategic geographic distribution. Communities will be chosen over a two-year cycle. At least 20 public sites will be chosen for development of model landscapes (likely including some NSA affiliate sites). Community Enhancement Program (CEP) Nebraska Community Enhancement Program For landscape projects located on public property that is adjacent to roadways, streets, parking lots or nonloop trails Funded by the Nebraska Department of Roads and Administered by the Nebraska Forest Service and Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, Inc.. Specialty Crop Grants http://www.agr.ne.gov Specialty Crop Grant Eligible projects must enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops and focus on research, promotion, marketing, nutrition, trade enhancement, food safety, food security, plant health programs, education and “buy” local programs, among other opportunities. Project must benefit the specialty crop industry, or a segment of the industry. Applications are due in the Fall/Winter. Dates will be announced each year by the Dept of Agriculture.
