President’s Message - March 2025

It is with great honor and excitement that I step into the role of President of the Nebraska Nursery and Landscape Association. I want to extend a thank you to each of you for your participation in our Winter Conference. Your enthusiasm, insights, and involvement are the driving force behind the strength of NNLA over the past 100 years.

The Winter Conference has been a resounding success with 210 attendees and 26 vendors. Whether you attended the sessions, participated in discussions, or simply connected with fellow members, your presence and involvement made this event truly special.

Did I mention we raised over $3,000 for our scholarship fund? Thank you to all that participated in purchasing raffle tickets, donating prizes, and bidding at the live auction. Developing the next generation of nursery professionals should be our number one priority.

Thank you to all the sponsors; it is with your support that we are able to put together these great networking and educational events.

Let’s reflect back to the first Annual Meeting on record on January 6, 1926 held at the Lincoln Hotel in Lincoln, NE. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by President Chet Marshall. Four applications were received and voted into membership.  A lively discussion was held on legislative matters before the committee along with election of officers. Once the meeting adjourned, the balance of the day was taken up with round table discussions.

I look forward to the coming year, where together we will continue to advocate for the Green Industry. Together, we will continue building and push forward in our mission to advance the nursery and landscape industry by providing opportunities for networking, education, advocacy and certification to industry professionals for the purpose of collectively growing their businesses.

Thank you again for your support and participation. Here’s to an exciting and productive year ahead! I look forward to seeing you at Summer Field Day.

Much appreciation,
Lee Olson
President, Nebraska Nursery and Landscape Association
