The Great Plains Society of American Foresters recently released a paper regarding eastern redcedar’s (Juniperus virginiana L.) presence on the Great Plains. The issue of encroachment has led to some contention surrounding the appropriate place for eastern redcedar in the Great Plains, between well-intentioned natural resource professionals, public and private landowners, public agencies, and private NGOs.
